He does a number of «good» things, but every time someone thanks him and says that he is «good,» he feels «bad.» His mother assures him that she can forgive him and that Jesus will as well. We never know what the «bad» thing actually is as he whispers in his mother's ear, which will allow each child to identify with the situation. Ages 5-8.
