      The book contains several

      delightful stories about two cats

      Steven an Matilda,

      and their friendship

      

      

      

      One fine day Steven and Matilda 

      were doing something important – 

      they were lying on the couch. 

      Since they were hardworking cats 

      they combined two things at once. 

      Steven was lying and sleeping while 

      Matilda was lying and watching TV. 

      

      

      

      And she was staring! 

      For they showed not the usual 

      silly stuff on TV, 

      they showed circus!

        

      

      

      Tinsel, feathers, gorgeous outfits, lights! 

      Spectators and applauding! 

      “This is life!” Matilda thought.

      

      

      

      Then the screen showed 

      the star of the performance –

       a famous dog – a singer. 

      “It is not too hard to sing  – 

      Matilda decided – I think I can do it,

       I just have to meow louder and 

      open my mouth wider”. 

      

      

      

      And without any delay 

      Matilda started rehearsing 

      (for she was a very responsible cat).
