      Acknowledgments and Dedication

This message has been inside me ever since the days I watched my father take on what seemed to me to be the monumental task of running a fivehundred-acre working dairy farm in northeastern Ohio. Coordinating the efforts of vendors, hired part-time help, laborers, our family and even the menagerie of animals was an act of leadership that could be decimated at any moment with a simple change in the weather.

As an avid football fan and head manager for the Ohio State football team under Woodrow Wayne Hayes, I learned powerful lessons on how to lead and drive great teams. That football program has been an inspiration in many ways throughout my life. I have been blessed to work with great coaches, great teams and powerful organizations over the years.

Specifically I want to thank Buckminster Fuller for showing me the reasons “why” I do what I do. To my family and grandparents for showing me what a real Code of Honor is. To my father and mother, for whom this subject is a passion to which both have committed a deep part of their lives. To my incredible loving wife, who was the first to teach me the true meaning of the word “trust.” To my dear friend Robert Kiyosaki, who never fails to push me to be the person I dream to be. To Kim Kiyosaki for being an incredibly intense and competitive teammate and true friend.. To the whole Rich Dad team, which has been one of the greatest business teams I have been honored to be a part of. To Lee Somers, my crosscountry coach in high school, who gave me my first taste of leadership, grit and endurance. To the warehouse team of my old air freight company, who taught me the true meaning of living by the code in the toughest of times and how love, work and discipline can make miracles happen.

      Most important:

The message of this book is timeless. None of it is original. It is the stuff of great institutions, great nations, great families and great people. I owe any inspiration in this book to all of those throughout time who gave their lives, fortunes and spirits for ideals that would make all of our lives better. I want to thank all of those who in their own way lead us every day.

To those who have made mistakes and owned up to them. To those who try and fail and try again. To every kid who ever raised his or her hand with excitement to be part of the team. To those who tried out for the team and didn’t make it but found their own teams to win on.

Most of all I dedicate this book to my two sons. If we can get them to realize and deliver their true gifts, they will touch thousands.

This is also dedicated to you. Everything you do makes a difference.
