Chapter 3
About Lola
Lola Dominguez is an eccentric Cuban-American born in Miami. She is what Cubans would call “java” (pronounced “hava”). Java means not having white or black skin color.
It is a person who is mulatto with beautiful caramel-colored skin. She is what Southerners would call a “red bone”. And “javas” usually have light colored hair.
Aside from being a java with piercing green eyes, she has long and wavy, honey-colored hair, high cheekbones, full lips and a set of dimples. She stands 5’7” tall with a bad-ass body to match. She is 25 years old and an only child.
Lola is known to have many attributes. For starters, she is this feisty, Cuban girl with lots of personality, charm and sass. She is educated, smart and business savvy. She goes after what she wants with confidence. She is down to earth, outgoing and flirtatious. She loves salsa dancing, staying fit and having fun with her friends. However, she can be a little hot-tempered and she always says what’s on her mind. She always stands up for what she believes in. She also doesn’t care what people think about her.
Lola’s major weakness is men. She loves men and they love her back. The chase and the challenge excites her. Being the center of attention is always her goal. But, Lola is a woman who mostly loves sex.
Lola lives in the oldest part of Miami, an area called Coconut Grove. It’s known for being “a village within a city”. Its laid back environment mixed with upscale living makes it one of the most desirable places to live and visit.
Coconut Grove is Miami’s original art district and boasts waterfront communities that are unique to the city. Its streets are filled with outdoor cafes and chic restaurants. There’s great shopping that ranges from Bohemian boutiques and street vendors to high end, name brand stores. The nightlife is just as entertaining with jazz, salsa and reggae bars or the bass-pounding nightclubs. Many tycoons, artists and musicians reside in this neighborhood, which is nestled between Biscayne Bay and Highway U.S. One.
Lola lives alone in a Mediterranean styled, multileveled five-bedroom, seven-bathroom waterfront estate. This paradise sits on 1.8 acres of land and has just over 16,000 square feet of amenities, including banyan trees, coconut palm trees, lush gardens and a gated guard entrance. Tropical landscaped courtyards with statue water features create the perfect oasis to the entryway of the house. Etched glass designs create a luxury finish to the double front doors. The living room has a twenty-three foot high Cathedral ceiling with breathtaking views of the bay through its floor to ceiling wall of windows. Crystal chandeliers, Brazilian cherry wood flooring, custom lighting, a grand staircase, walls of French doors, four fireplaces, two wet bars and two elevators can be seen throughout the house. Her State-of-the-Art chef’s kitchen has a Tuscan theme with dark, rich woods, Italian marble countertops and flooring, stainless steel appliances and a huge eat-in area. The grand master suite has coffered ceilings, Spanish arches and columns and Italian flooring. The master bath is just as luxurious. And her custom made closet takes up over 2,300 square feet of space.
Other rooms in the house include a gym; billiards room and a twelve-seat theater with a top of the line surround sound system.
The backyard has a mega bar with plenty of seating, two party size terraces, a heated infinity pool with a waterfall spa and a huge second-level, cascading edge grill area.
This one-of-a-kind grill area includes a summer kitchen with immaculate marble countertops, custom cabinetry and stainless steel appliances.
There’s also a pool house with outdoor showers, a yacht, six jet skis, plush gardens and a tennis court that converts into a basketball court. Her two live-in housekeepers and chef stay in the staff quarters in one wing of the house. And her six-car garage houses her custom pink Audi TTS roadster with suicide doors and pearl white Cadillac Escalade.
Needless to say, she wasn’t struggling financially.
Lola inherited her wealth from her mother’s estate. Natalie, Lola’s mother, passed away right after Lola graduated from high school and after she turned 18. But before Natalie died, she built an empire for herself with her baby girl as the driving force.
Natalie migrated from Cuba when she was a young girl. She always dreamt of being a model. However, just as her career began to take off, she fell in love and became pregnant. Her modeling career didn’t last long after that. So, she decided to do the next best thing: Natalie started a modeling agency. Once it grew to be one of the top agencies worldwide, she designed a lingerie line. Once that exploded, she ventured into her own cosmetics line. It also did extremely well. And she topped off her portfolio with a skin care and a perfume line with two women’s fragrances.
Natalie loved femininity, so that meant fashion, beauty, scents, sexiness and romance. She was obsessed with wanting women to look and feel their very best at all times. She worked hard for over 20 years to create products that displayed her passions.
Other passions Natalie had were dancing and eating. She loved to dance and taught Lola everything she knew. And she loved great tasting food. The love for the two drove her to want a nightclub with lots of Spanish flair, great food and plenty of room for dancing.
Eventually, Natalie acquired it all. But she didn’t do it alone, David and Ana were by her side the whole way.
Aside from being Lola’s godparents, Ana and David are the guardians over Lola’s estate. Ana was Natalie’s best friend since Cuba and her trusted confidant. She was also Natalie’s right hand and second in charge. So, Ana stepped in and kept the entire operation functional after Natalie’s death.
David is the CFO for Natalie’s entire operation. He is very smart with money. He knows which business risks to take and where to invest financially.
David made sure Natalie’s dreams became a reality after she passed away. He got the nightclub up and running just the way she’d always talked about. And four more perfume fragrances were added to her already successful line.
And Natalie purchased Ana and David a four-bedroom estate a block away from her and Lola’s home. She wanted them near at all times.
Growing up, Lola pretty much got whatever she wanted. Although she was spoiled, she wasn’t bratty. And she wasn’t one who took advantage of her mother’s great fortune.
Presently, Lola receives a monthly stipend from her trust. But, she also has another source of money that she uses for her spending pleasure.
However, she wants to be like her mom. She wants to build her very own empire and add to the family fortune. She wants to explore her passions just like her mother did. Most of all, she wants to make her mother proud from heaven.
Lola loves fashion, clothes, sexiness, colors . . . but most of all accessories. One of her favorite things to do is to dress up an outfit with accessories. The more accessories the better and the more bling, the more fabulous.
For this reason, she started her own accessories line. She started with jewelry, watches, sunglasses, handbags, shoes and belts. She eventually wants to venture into hats, scarves and hair accessories.
Also, as a flight attendant, she saw a need for better professional attire. So with Blair’s assistance, they started designing new flight attendant uniforms for U.S. Airline Carriers. She wanted to add pizzazz and style to the required attire.
Chapter 4
Shopping
It was a typical hot and humid afternoon in Miami. There wasn’t a gray cloud in the sky and the sun was beaming.
After lunch, Lola headed to one of the best places to shop . . . South Beach. She went to one of her favorite stores on Washington Avenue, Milly’s on the Beach. It was this vibrant and trendy boutique that carried all the latest fashions, amazing retro looks and accessory pieces to put any outfit together.
She drove her Escalade to the valet because she didn’t want to hassle with finding
