      Dear Reader,

In this book you’ll find ideas for 12 parties—one for every

month of the year. From January to December, there’s always

      something to celebrate!

The games, decorations, crafts, and recipes in this book are

sure to make your party fun, yummy, and memorable. You’ll

find all the know-how you need to put it together, plus tips

for before and after the party, too.

Each party can be a sleepover—or not. It’s your call. And you

can throw any party during any month. Want snow in July? Or

a summer carnival to warm up a wintry weekend? The only

      requirement is a smile.

      So if you’re interested in . . .

traveling around the world in an afternoon

sipping a snowball soda float after a snowball fight

creating a summer carnival in your own backyard

. . . then grab your calendar and pencil in a party!

make invitations. When passing out your

invites, be considerate. If you can’t mail

them, give them to your friends privately so

that no one feels left out.

      How long should I plan?

It’s best to give your guests at least two

weeks’ notice, and you’ll need about one

week to get all the other details in place.

and pick up everything you need.

      A few days before…

      Think about how
