       Searching

      Searching for a job

      Searching for a residence

      Searching for a red-haired woman

Searching for some love in a foreign country

Searching for old clothes, cars and furniture

      Searching, searching for everything,

Searching for myself on a dead-end street

Searching for my honor, which I lost in Germany

Searching for my smile, which I hung at the front door in my

      Homeland

      Searching for friendship without obstacles

      Searching …

      Searching for something big

Searching more, until I have found my desires

      I am searching …

are you searching with me as well?

I am searching for you within me

Because you have lost yourself too

      Let us search together …

until, with the sunrise, we have retrieved all our lost desires

      Searching …

Let us search for blooming sunflowers in far-away lands

stretching in fraternity high towards the sun

       Longing

      The blood in my veins

      flows

      Day and Night

      As the Munzur flows

      perpetually

      in far-away lands

      with great yearnings

      The longing

      awakens me

      Day and night

In the dreamboat full of memories

      I am as old

as the history of the Munzur

And I am as young as

      red carnations on mount Ararat

I am as fruitful as mother earth

      Day and night

The longings flow to foreign lands

      Where I live in exile

      As a displaced person

      The longings

flow as silently as the Munzur

      in the night …

      The longings

flow in great haste like the Euphrates

between high mountains to far-away lands

Time passes painfully in my heart

The longings flow like the Munzur into the course of history

       Silence

      I am guilty

      because I keep silent

while my homeland is being turned into a nuclear barrel

      I am guilty

because I tie the knot of the noose

while my brother is being executed

      I am guilty

      because I keep silent

while my freedom is being shot!

       The Cries

      A little girl

      cried for help

      cried in German, in Turkish

      for help …

      Leave my daddy

      here at home with me

      A pregnant woman

      cried for help

      with weeping eyes

tears were running down her face

she cried in German, in Turkish

      for help…

Please let me be here with my husband

      so that he can love

      and hold our child

      A mother

      cried for help

      cried for help

Leave my son with me …

      The little girl

      the pregnant woman

the mother of the boy …

      they all cried for help

      in German, in Turkish

cried, even though no one gave a helping hand

      They all

      cried for help

      in German, in Turkish

      The policeman

      at the airport

      heard the cries…

      The people on the streets

      in the factory

      in the ministries

      those who command there

      heard the cries …

Yet no one gave a helping hand

      They cried for help

      in German, in Turkish

      The politicians heard the cries

      but no one replied…

      Then spoke the

      Immigration Act

      They shouted for help

      but no one listened …

      In the newspapers

      pictures of little girls

      crying women

      deported fathers …

      Sad Germany

      was behind them

      Painful, dark

      Germany

      broken hearts

      shrilling screams

      they left behind

      Oh, my wounded heart

be calm and silent, do not cry …

      cry

      no one can hear

      My little one
