      Prelude

There is a great turmoil in heaven among some of the angels, especially some of the powers, the Warriors of Heaven. The powers are led by an Archangel name Michael. Second in command to Michael, is his First, the first of the powers. Heaven is full of many legions of these powers. Their job is to protect and serve the universe, heaven and earth. That is what their maker, their father, had created them for.

Michael's First was a great warrior. He looked down upon the earth observing mankind’s evolution. He didn't see the love his father had given to them. He only saw the hate, the wars. To him they were like parasites, destroying what his father had created, for them. Earth was no longer the paradise that his father had fashioned. What hurt more was the fact that the children of Adam created by his father’s hand, that he loved above all, were the ones destroying it. Something snapped in him and for the first time he felt anger. The loss of his father's paradise had hardened his heart.

The longer the First watched, the angrier he got. Until one day, he spoke to his lieutenants, telling them they needed to do something. They needed to stop this disease upon the earth. And the only way they could do it was to destroy them. How could they be Father's favorite, he reasoned, if they did not treasure his gifts? No longer able to watch, they made the decision. The First, and his two lieutenants, gathered the legions that were most loyal to them. They set out on their mission to destroy mankind.

But as they left heaven, they came face-to-face with the Archangel Michael. With him was the rest of heaven’s Army. Determined to find some kind of justice for their father, the First and his lieutenants pressed on.

The only thing that could kill an angel was an Angel’s blade. Each angel was given one upon his or her creation, a blade of great power. Onto which their deeds would be written, a testimony.

Heaven cried tears of blood that day. The universe was filled with the wind and fury of angels’ wings. The sound of angels’ swords striking angels’ swords deafened the universe. And the cry of angels filled heaven and earth. But this was not a fight over heaven, or power. Nothing like this had happened since the Creator cast out the Morning Star, the first of the fallen angels.

As the battle spread the First fought on. He believed he was fighting for his father to save paradise. So many angels had fallen on both sides. The First could hear their cries. As he looked to his lieutenants only one remained standing. Half his legions were dying or dead. But the battle raged on. At one point the Archangel Michael found his First. The one he trusted above all. He advanced on him with his mighty sword of blue flames. It troubled Michael but he knew that to stop the battle, he would have to destroy his First.

Michael sent other angels to capture the lieutenant, if they were able to. When Michael was a few feet from the First he readied to strike his blow. The First kneeled before him and placed his angels blade at his feet. The other angels had captured the lieutenant and surrounded him. Still the lieutenant fought on, with fury and rage, as he was not willing to concede. Michael was surprised to see his First kneeling before him. The Archangel Michael lowered his blade, giving mercy. There was a ripple across the heavens as the battle subsided.

The First and his lieutenant were taken before the choir, the highest of angels, and the ones who carried out father's law. The decision was swift. The lieutenant was sent to earth to live out his existence until the end of days, never being allowed into heaven, to live alone as one of the lost.

As the First stood before the choir, Michael requested that he might ask a question of him before his First was to receive punishment. When granted his query was simple as he asked his First, “Why?”

The First’s answer was not hesitant. “They destroy father's paradise. They do not see the beauty; they do not appreciate what he has done for them.”

Then Michael asked, “Why did you surrender?”

Again the First answered him but the anger had waned. “I can still hear the cries of angels. Given enough time the children of Adam will destroy themselves. Why should another angel cease to exist?”

Even with all his strength, the First felt broken. He was an angel made from love He wondered why and how he could've done such a thing. How he could have forgotten his oath. But as he looked at his hands, he realized he had. He had let down his commander the Archangel Michael: the one who had been a mentor, a guide, and taught him the ways of a warrior.

The First knelt in front of the choir waiting for his judgment, questioning what he had done, wondering what he had become. Surely an angel, a warrior, would not have done what he had. As the choir stood ready to hand down his sentence. A voice as powerful as the ages spoke. It was Father, the creator.

He told the First that he would be sent to earth to live among those he wanted to destroy. He would care for the sick and the dying. He was to watch over the children who were left with no one to care guiding their souls to heaven. He was told to learn of their hardships and their pain. He was also told that he would give them the mercy and comfort he had forgotten was their due.

The First asked if he would ever be able to return to heaven. Father told the First that he had much to learn, that the children of Adam were chosen among his jewels for a reason. His father reminded him that his destiny was written in the stars. That one day, he hoped that maybe the First would be able to fulfill it. But if not, his existence, and that of many others would cease.

With his father's final words the First was given a body, more human than divine. Then the First was sent to earth, his retribution.

      Prologue

      Hello… my name is Daniel.

      To say I was unfeeling.

My answer would be simple… No!

To say I watched many of my kind, slaughtered and murdered, and I didn't continue the fight.
