Love and Social Life
The social life has been active and happy for the past few years. You’ve made many new friends and have entered serious love relationships. Now it is time to consolidate, to separate the wheat from the chaff, the fruit from the peel.
Saturn is mostly in your 7th house this year (he will be absent for only three months, approximately, from June 15 to September 18), and will remain there for two more years. This means your love relationships and friendships will get tested. These testings are usually not pleasant but they serve a good purpose. Good relationships will survive and get even better. So-so relationships will most likely dissolve. And it is good that they do not last. The cosmos wants the best for you, anything less gets swept away.
In the good times, when the sun is shining and the birds are singing and everything is honeymoonish, we don’t really know if love is real. In such conditions social harmony is natural. It is only in the tough times that we learn the depth (or lack thereof) of love. This is what is happening these days.
Singles are not likely to marry this year – nor does it seem advisable. In general there is less dating, less partying and less going out. This is a year (and this holds for the next two years) where the focus should be on quality not quantity. Fewer friends, but good ones, are preferable to hordes of lukewarm ones. On August 11 the love planet will move into your 4th house of home and family. This signals a shift in your love attitudes and needs. From now on you crave emotional support and intimacy as much as physical or intellectual intimacy. The person who can share feelings with you is the one that attracts you. Romantic opportunities still occur close to home and can happen through family connections or through the intervention of family members. You like people with strong family values.
Often with this kind of transit an old flame from the past makes an appearance. Sometimes this happens literally – the actual person comes back into your life. Sometimes the appearance is more allegorical. You meet someone with the same personality patterns or appearance as the old flame. On the emotional level it is ‘as if’ you are with the old flame. The cosmic purpose of these things is to resolve old issues so that you can progress further in your love life.
Self-improvement
Saturn in your 7th house of love for most of the year shows a need, as we have mentioned, to project love and warmth to others. This can be hard work at times. You have to project warmth even when you don’t really feel it, psychologically speaking. A good meditation for this is ‘DIVINE LOVE FLOWS THROUGH MY CONSCIOUSNESS NOW’. This meditation takes the intention out of your hands. Regardless of what you personally feel, the love from a Higher Power is flowing through you. If this meditation is practised regularly the love life will improve dramatically.
Saturn in the 7th house tends to bring disappointments with the current love and with friends. With this kind of transit it is important to master the art of forgiveness. Real forgiveness doesn’t whitewash the wrong that was done. The action was wrong and we acknowledge that, but we forgive the person. We understand that the other who has hurt us had their own issues and problems to deal with, and had we been in their shoes, we might have acted the same way. Don’t allow grudges to fester in the consciousness. In fact the previous meditation will work well in these kinds of situations. ‘You did what you did, but Divine Love flows through my consciousness now.’
Ever since Neptune moved into your 10th career house in 2012 you have been subjected to very intense spiritual energy. For a logical, rational Gemini this can be hard to handle. Spiritual energy has its own logic and its own laws and often violates Gemini’s vaunted logic. Neptune is still very near the Mid-heaven of your Horoscope, which shows that your spiritual life is perhaps the most important thing these days. If you are not on a spiritual path, this is the time to find one. If you are already on a path, this is a period to explore it more deeply.
In many cases, Gemini, you will actually opt for a spiritual career in ministry, spiritual counselling, spiritual teaching or writing. The fine arts – which require inspiration from above – would also be appealing these days. The business side of these callings would also be appealing.
Pluto has been in your 8th house of transformation for many years now. Thus you are dealing with death and death issues these days. Perhaps you have had a few encounters with death of late. Perhaps people you know have departed or have had near-death kinds of experiences. None of this is punitive, only educational. You are confronting these things so that you will have a deeper understanding of them. The fear of death – the primal fear in the psyche – is what keeps people from their dreams and from their true potential. When this is dealt with (and it’s happening now) you will start to soar.
I’m generally not a fan of past-life regression, but this year – and especially after August 11 – it might be a good idea. You are in a period where you need to come to terms with your past. You need to assimilate its wisdom and move on from there.

You begin your year with an overwhelming percentage of power in the upper half of the Horoscope. Until the 17th, 80 per cent of the planets are above the horizon, and from the 17th to the 28th the percentage increases to 90 per cent. Your career house is strong: almost half of the planets are there or moving through there. Your house of home and family, by contrast, is empty. Only the Moon will pay a brief visit here on the 9th and 10th. So we have a very clear message. Focus on the career and your outer objectives. Home and family issues can safely be downplayed. You can best serve your family by achieving your career goals, and the family seem supportive of this.
The planetary power is mostly in the Western, social sector this month, as it has been for the past five or so months. It will change next month, but for now you are still focused on others and downplaying your own personal interests. You still need to achieve your aims through consensus rather than personal will, but it will be useful now to make a note of those conditions in your life that displease you. Though it is not yet the time to make any changes, you can at least plan them. These changes will be easier to make in the coming months. There is nothing wrong with self-interest (so long as it isn’t destructive) but you are not yet in that cycle.
