Tips
Try not to stare at a Japanese when you talk to him. Many Japanese feel it is rude to look a person directly in the face; “if the person has an ugly face, he will feel uncomfortable”—this is the way it was once explained. The Japanese are very considerate not to hurt other people’s feelings.
