to Delete a Workspace
1. Select the Customize User Interface.
2. Right click on any Workspace that you do not want to delete.
3. Right Click and select Set Current.
(You can not delete a workspace if it is “current”.)
4. Right click on the Workspace that you wish to Delete.
5. Select Delete.
6. Select Yes if you really want to delete the workspace.
7. Select Apply and OK buttons.

CREATE A MASTER DECIMAL SETUP TEMPLATE
The following instructions will guide you through creating a “Master” decimal setup template. This setup template is very similar to the setup template you may have made while using the Beginning Workbook but there are a few differences.
NEW SETTINGS
A. | Begin your drawing with a different template as follows: |
1. Select the NEW command.
2. Select template file acad.dwt from the list of templates.
3. Select Open
B. | Set the drawing Units as follows: |
1. Type UNITS <enter>
2. Change the Type and Precision as shown
3. Select OK button
C. | Set the Drawing Limits (Size of the drawing area) as follows: |
1. Type Limits <enter>
2. Select Off
“Off” means that your drawing area in Modelspace is unlimited. You will control the plotting with the layout tabs. (Paperspace)
3. Zoom / All
D. | Set the Grids and Snap as follows: |
1. Type DS<enter>
2. Select the Snap and Grid tab
3. Change the settings as shown below.
4. Select the OK button.
E. | Change Lineweight settings as follows: |
1. Left click on Lineweight button down arrow located on the status line.
2. Select Lineweight Settings
3. Change to inches and adjust the Display scale as shown below.
4. Select the OK button.
F. | Create new Layers as follows: |
1. Load the linetypes listed below.
Center2, Hidden, Phantom2
2. Assign names, colors, linetypes, lineweights and plotability as shown below:
G. | Create a new Text Style as follows: |
1. Select Text Style.
2. Create the text style Text-Classic using the settings shown below.
3. When complete, select Set Current and Close.
H. | Create a Dimension Style as follows: |
1. Select the Dimension Style command.
2. Select the New button.
3. Enter Name, Start with, Annotative, Use for as shown below.
4. Select Continue button.
5. Select the Primary Units tab and change your settings to match the settings shown below.
6. Select the Lines tab and change your settings to match the settings shown below.
7. Select the Symbols and Arrows tab and change your setting to match the settings shown below.
8. Select the Text tab and change your settings to match the settings shown below
9. Select the Fit tab and change your setting to match the settings shown below.
10. Now select the OK button.
Your new style “DIM-DECIMAL” should be listed.
11. Select the “Set Current” button to make your new style “DIM-DECIMAL” the style that will be used.
12. Select the Close button.
13. Important: Re-Save your drawing as My Decimal Setup.
