that have gone on to become international cross-cultural anthems. The world found in the wake of U2 finds itself transformed to a better place. What waves for us all to splash and play in!
As artists, they are masters of invention and re-invention, living in the present yet constantly moving forward, onwards and upwards. They’ve performed live before the billions and billions of the Earth. Their tours smash all records. Calculations must include the volume of joy that’s been realized through the music, as it plays on at weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs, boardroom presentations, graduation ceremonies, dances, and all the world’s parties we humans hold to mark the major milestones of life. They have a finger on the pulse of the planet. How they are active in life and living! They are global leaders for social justice in all lands. Thanks be to Bono, so many lives (actual lives, people) have been saved! Anti-malarial mosquito netting, sanitation upgrades, the distribution of food and medicine. Here are measurable improvements –these are real, scientifically measurable improvements – in the lives of whole communities. Here’s a real superstar and here is what he’s chosen to do with his time.
All around the world, this, here, is the voice of greatness.
This is what greatness sounds like.
Thanks be to Bono!
Who else has done these things?
Good God, I tell you, I love the Rolling Stones. Richards and Jagger, their music blows my mind. And they, among many other fantastic artists throughout the Ages have been great supporters of charity and social justice. Of course you can hear lots of great songs, by lots of great artists, being played loudly over and over again. U2 is outnumbered on that front, they might not stand out on the greater playlist for you. But we’re talking about the greater and the grander. It’s U2 that aims for above and beyond. They have kicked the meaning of actioned powered rock star up a notch. Empowered a whole world they have. They quench a great thirst for real love and real peace. The homeless sheltered, the hungry fed, more and more healed and emancipated, thanks to their good works.
These here are just the facts. There are many people alive today, because of U2.
Rock n’ Roll has inspired the birth of so many rich and vibrant fan based religions. Dylan, Marley, Lennon/McCartney, Cobain and Tupac to name but a few. But I assert that they are not the same. Respected and accepted as these sacred spiritual movements may be to many, I suggest to you that none can compare to the impact and influence of the global spiritual renaissance that has been inspired by U2.
U2!
U2 are the last of the great rock stars. This breed, it’s endangered. Rocks stars of this calibre are few and far between. Climactic change! Look out. Look around and see. Evolution, as it goes, keeps things moving forward. U2 might very well prove to be the last of their kind. Considerable evidence suggests that the reign of the rock star may be passing. It’s a new scene now. Unknown waters beyond whole new horizons. Prepare for the crazy mix of pop-rock-hip hop-punk-heavy-metal-trip chill fusion that follows from here on in. Streaming, endless. Who knows? It will all be New Classical. Off the charts. Prepare ye the way, the world is moving on, to something different, to something entirely new.
Don’t be sad. I’m sure celebrity will survive. Dinosaurs evolved into birds! How awesome is that? They can now fly. The stars in the sky will be shining a long time yet.
Let’s all be cool, let’s all just relax, let’s all just chill a bit here and go along with it.
Let everything go, come on.
Let it go.
It’ll be alright.
Sorry Radiohead, you do rock it, yes it’s true. But.
Sorry Coldplay. A for effort.
Foo Fighters, good job, well done.
Metallica, oh man, you rock it so hard indeed.
Bon Jovi? Please.
Led Zeppelin is not reuniting and we need to accept this fact and move on.
The Who? For how much longer, I wonder.
So many great big time performers have taken the stage and rocked it up loud around the world, just like U2. And they’re all amazing, in their own special ways. What wonderful musical talent we have in this world. We’ve been truly blessed by some mind blowing tunes. How lucky we are to have lived in the presence of such greatness. But there is not a lot that reaches out towards that U2 kind of greatness.
I do feel sorry for new bands, trying to make it big in the world today. Big dreams of rock stardom are not exactly uncommon. It’s a tough shot, to upstart, no doubt. Keep trying, little rockets. Who knows. Maybe one day you will take off and fly way up into that sky. I’ll root for you, sure. I wish you the best of luck. All you can do is wonder where this all can possibly go next, after we’ve seen it all, lived it all, even better then the real thing (LIVE!). I mean we’ve experienced it in 360° 3D cyber-spaced super vision with the full surround sound. What comes next? U2’s the top grossing ticket to the next dimension. If the record industry is a wave, crashing on the beach, U2 are the surfers, riding at the very top. They reach past the limits. They are the game changers.
Change.
This is a new game we’re playing now. We’re in new territory. From here on in and out it’s all unknown.
Don’t be afraid.
We’re alive!
We’re here now, together.
We’re together, in this moment.
Live it!
This is it.
It will never be like this again.
The nuts and bolts of the U2opian world view centers upon the musical recordings of U2, and it incorporates their entire discography, all of their live performances, all the words uttered by any member of the band in any interview, and every facet of their public and private involvement in interactions with life on the planet Earth. Bono, as the lead singer and the member of the band who stands in the spotlight the most, is the primary spiritual focal point of the U2opian belief system, although we honor and revere all members of the band.
U2 is awesome!
U2 is awesome, U2 are awesome – both are considered to be accurate ways of phrasing this expression of grammatical truth absolute.
When I speak to people about the power of the message, as revealed to us by U2, I speak to them of the message of love. I speak to them about the message of peace. I speak to them of beauty and truth. The sense of justice. The touch of karma with a kiss of grace. That kiss, I tell you, it is so sweet. Tolerance and respect. Acceptance. Human dignity. Fun and joy. Life! I speak of hope, for today and tomorrow. It’s a very positive message. U2opia! Affirmative. Uplifting, as per our spiritual goal: Elevation!
We U2opians are by no means the only ones who’ve been getting into this love and peace promotion business. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, all of the great religions of the world, have deferred at one time or another to the ultimate higher ideals of love and peace. The brilliance of U2 encompasses the constructive and beneficial virtue of all human thought.
U2opian dogma, if there can be said to be such a thing, is the universal declaration of human rights accompanied by a rock’n roll soundtrack and vibrant light show. To the core, our movement’s position was no different from that taken by many other religious organizations that believe in the existence of fundamental human rights – rights that, by birth, belong to every person on this planet. The main difference we discovered, between other religions and U2opians,
