      Acknowledgments

I’m grateful, first of all, for life. For whatever or whomever made this wonderful world and gave us the ability to live, to love, and to laugh. I’m so blessed to be alive at this time in history in this wonderful country, and have the ability, and freedom to write this book, to share joy, happiness, and bliss with the world.

I am thankful to my coach, friend, minister, guru, teacher and comic genius, Dr. Rev. Joanne Colman. This book would not be possible without her encouragement and pit-bull-isht-ness. (I know that’s not a word…yet). Rev. Joanne gave me the tools, the confidence and the knowledge that I’m good enough. Thank you.

I acknowledge Rev. Kristina Collins, Rev. Karen Rice, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Jim Baker, Teri Thayer, Jessie James, and David White Cloud Burkheart who have nurtured, taught, inspired, and encouraged me to believe in myself. I thank Darren LaCroix, Craig Valentine, Judy Carter, and Patricia Fripp for all they do.

Special thank you to Shelly Greenhalgh-Davis and Mary Berg, my two incredible editors, and Sofia Fllgiel for the amazing front and back cover design. Shelly, Mary and Sofia you have helped, encourage, and motivated me to express and believe in my gifts and talents, thank you!

      Introduction

“We don’t laugh because we are happy, we are happy because we laugh.”

      ~William James

It was one of those amazingly great summer days. I felt fantastic. The day had gone better than expected, and I expected a lot. On the drive home I stopped at a local Starbucks, and sauntered in to get my date a cappuccino while she waited in my BMW convertible. My enthusiasm and humor was radiating and inviting. Two minutes and three jokes later, I not only came out of that Starbucks with a cappuccino for my date, but I had two complimentary desserts. The barista was so captivated by my comedy and positive fun mood she insisted I take them free of charge. Comedy is truly a key to a having success in love and money. Comedy can definitely help us make friends and influence people.

Most everyone wants to be funny. Being funny is often considered clever, smart and fun. A funny person can be perceived as charming and the life of the party. A funny person is interesting, well liked, and fun to be around. When you make someone laugh, you tend to be more respected, admired, and likable.

Laughter is healing for the body, mind, and soul. There have been amazing results from “incurable” diseases with nothing more than faith and a lot of laughter. The most successful people are often the funniest. There is a great deal of scientific evidence that supports laughter as being an aphrodisiac. Need I say more?

The problem for most of us is our belief. We don’t think we are funny, therefore we don’t try to be funny. We tell ourselves, and anyone who will listen, that we are not funny. We repeat that negative affirmation, “I’m not funny,” so often that we believe it to be true. The result of our negative affirmation is that we don’t even try to be humorous, or clever. The truth is, funny can be learned. You have the ability to be funny, and this book has the tools to help you.

Comedy Made Easy will show, teach and demonstrate to you that you can be funny. You will gain the tools to entertain, dazzle, and amuse your friends. There are tips to help you add humor to any situation, and you will acquire the ability to add humor to most any speaking opportunity. Comedy Made Easy contains 123 joke templates that will guide you into original humor. You will find information, data, tips, and fun facts to help you be funny. Never again will you have to, nor should you ever need to go to the Internet for a joke that many in the room have already heard.

The 123 templates are from real comics, comic writers, world champion speakers, and mostly from my own imagination. The templates take most of the work out of comedic writing. They will give you the framework and structure for your imagination to come alive. It is almost where all you have to do is fill in the blanks.

This book will give you the basics that I learned from the comics, comic writers, and world champion speakers who have taught me so much about public speaking, presentation skills, and comedy. You don’t have to be born funny or be the class clown to use these techniques and templates to be funny. All you have to do is start. With a minimum of effort, you can be funny and write your own original jokes. With Comedy Made Easy you will be on your way to more money, honey and health. If I can do it, you can do it too.

      You Can Be Funny
