      This Dover edition, first published in 1990, is a republication of Suites, Lessons and Pieces for the Harpsichord (Original Works for the Harpsichord), edited by William Barclay Squire and originally published in four volumes by J. & W. Chester, London and Brighton, in 1918. The French version of the Preface has been omitted, and a table of contents and a publisher’s note have been added.
