the knife to drop to the pavement.
Still holding Tony by his wrist, Robert swung him in an arc, an arc that stopped with a horrible thud, as Tony was smashed, face-first, into the brick wall beside the path, before sliding, unconscious, in a heap at the base of the wall.
Robert released his hold on the wrist, and spun to face the two remaining attackers. ‘Who wants to be next?’ he asked with a deadly grin on his lips.
The two thugs looked at one another, and decided that tonight was not going to be their night. Keeping an eye on Robert, they began to back away, until they were a safe distance away, then they turned, and walked quickly in the direction of the pub.
Robert turned toward Jade and Rani. ‘Are you both alright?’

Rani was bending over Tony, bag open, and tending to his wounds.
‘Leave him, Rani. He doesn’t deserve your help,’ said Robert.
‘I’m a doctor. I can’t leave him bleeding here, even if he is a piece of scum.’
She bandaged his stab mark, and swabbed his broken and bleeding nose, before wafting smelling salts under his nose to waken him up.
They left him then, moaning in agony, and trying to get to his hands and knees. He made a very sick and sorry sight.
