the suns dying rays

All that one can see is the past

      Nothing more to say

      And very little to do

To the sky hope and prey

When the reaper comes for you

      Taxi

I fell in the middle of somewhere

      North of the black stump

      I paid my fare

It got me over the hump

      Old man took my hand

      Showed me his wondrous reign

      Smiley weathered face a headband

Hand in my pocket a costly pain

      Another offered a helping hand

A good Samaritan bless his soul

It was all part of master plan

      To extract a gleeful toll

I happen upon a young man

In a red and black uniform

Who said rest by this cooling fan

Ill find the answer on my phone

      He thought about my troubles

In a kind voice he did declare

I have an answer to your problem

Though you have to commit to a fare

His cohort at once came running

      Exclaiming offer of assistance

      Sadly your home is trembling

      But its of no importance

At last I met kind traveler

Who did assist in my hour of need

Chose not to exact a pound of flesh

Instead, with kindness he planted a seed

      Replenished and reinvigorated

      My faith in human creed

For there are kind and helpful men

In all of Earths lands there are indeed

      Water

      A warm winters night

      Is obscene with no delight

Like a dozer’s relentless mighty push

      Which sterilizes our noble bush

I remember the promise of green

      And bubbling of life divine

      Running water so pristine

Natural world was yours and mine

But what of it I hear you say

All of this earth must die

Tis not point to fear today

And none are yet to utter a cry

Its not death that I fear

      Nor its cohort decay

But black air that fill my lungs dear

For the future of this jewel I pray

Man cant live on bread alone

      Industry needs meat

Headstrong heart has turned to stone

And soon he wont need his feet

      Progress will not be denied

In this there is no merit

      Life quality has declined

      Our children will bear it

I’m done I’m spent I want no more

I don’t want to be involved

It was a mistake to consider

      The environmental riddle

      Could ever be solved

      Alone

      Cold air of the night

      Surrenders to dawns light

      Distant mind and fearful heart

A new day a new start

      She walks with grace

      Hair wound tight

      Air of confidence

Glad is the man of such sight

      Aimlessly gaze upon the sea

      Barrier strong and tall

Loving heart longs to be free

How can she scale that wall

      Strength has gone and spent

Drowning she reaches for the foam

      Wonder where the years went

When did her heart turn to stone

      Life has almost passed

Story told and at an end

All that is can not last

Mind’s a tower which will not bend

      Lucifer

      My dear friend and companion

Your cries breach the ocean blue

      Theres no rest from confusion

      No open doors for you

      The distance between us

      Is great and profound

      My journey will soon end

      I am homeward bound

      Aimlessly wondering

      Contemplating your plight

I’m with you my dear friend

On this cold and windy night

I hate to see you in such state

      Angry your soul will consume

      Snarling and clawing wont abate

      From that thief vacuum

      Adriatic nights

      We were young

      The Adriatic was on fire

Played and frolicked in the sun

      The fuel youths desire

      Dark exotic beauty

With short hair and chocolate skin

      As she strolled that beach

My mind was immersed in sin

Adrift on a raft with Kotor’s flower

I dared to touch her hand

Stunned as a surge of power

Lifted me above this old land

      Sunny days and loving nights

Oh to be young alive and fast

Drink deeply from that cup I say

For its destined not to last

      A lifetime has now past

Tried to re-kindle that fading light

Never will the sands of time

      Again, offer that Adriatic night

      Ciska

My dear friend from a far
