Abroad. Go there – I don't know where, Bring that – I don't know what

Another lifestyle: You can’t bring up your rules.

      • Population: Too many people around. You may also be annoyed by representatives of certain countries.

      • Traffic: Endless traffic jams.

      • Big city noise: Eternal hum.

      • Employment: Not so simple as it seems at first glance. You can be unemployed for a long time.

      • Nervous system failure: The incredible pressure of stress on the psyche and nervous system will lead to failures or breakdowns.

      • Survival: Since we decided to speak directly, then this is exactly what you will have to deal with first.

      • Burning life: While you are standing in a traffic jam, while you are solving simple problems, while you are adapting, while you are “plowing hard”, while there is an eternal race …You are burning the time of your life.

      • Hard start: Just admit that you will move to a place where the standard of living is higher, which means that everything costs more. The costs will be very noticeable. You start earning “later”, but you have to spend “now”.

      • Loneliness: Despite the number of people who will surround you, you can feel lonely for an infinitely long time.

      Myth Breaker

In this chapter, I want to comment on most of the myths that you hear/read here and there. Alas, these are all illusions, and the sooner you understand this, the faster you will sober up. Accordingly, less negative consequences will await you.

      1. You can earn a lot.

Keep in mind that in high-income countries, costs are just as high. You will also live from paycheck to paycheck. In order to get this “fork of happiness” you will have to sacrifice. Either live with “suspicious/weird personalities” while you rent a house, or save on yourself.

      2. It’s better there than here.

It’s not a fact. Much depends on the circumstances. For example: One thing is when you live in a modern and freshly renovated apartment by yourself, where work is not far away, the center is close, and everything that is needed is close by. (The price for this will be corresponding.) Another thing is when you live in an “unknown” place and far from the most pleasant conditions, so much so that it takes hours to get to the center, work or public goods, plus standing in traffic jams. Everything is very relative to something. The conversation is not only about the time and money spent, but also about the burning of life in transport. “There” is the same as “Here”– it’s just another side view.

      3. Education is more solid.

You can study in Oxford and not become anyone, or you can graduate from a local vocational school and succeed quite well. A piece of paper from an educational institution itself is not a guarantor of either a good job or a chic future.

      4. Work is more promising.

It all depends on what exactly you consider to be “promising”. If you think you’ll take off like a rocket, then no. You should understand that there are enough people besides you. With the difference that some of them have connections, money, and cronyism.

      5. Career growth is instant.

Have you heard about cheese in a mousetrap? Question: “What price are you willing to pay for your career growth?” If you are ready “for anything”, so maybe it will be easier for you to try “at home”? Less travel and adaptation costs, however, the meaning is still the same.

      6. Everyone is waiting for you. You are a valuable person.

Oh yeah. Red carpet, flowers and camera flashes. I wonder if those who are waiting know?

      7. You are very creative -more than anyone else. Give it a go, try your best, you are worth it.

There will always be those who step on the heels. This is how the world works. We are all unique and inimitable, but in spite of this there are no irreplaceable ones either.

      8. You will get help everywhere. There are many social programs.

There are programs but they are not invented for you. Rather, to become a participant in one of the programs, you have to sweat a lot, and the “exhaust” will be minimal.

      9. It doesn’t matter how, what matters is where.

Nonsense. Let’s go back to the question: “What price are you willing to pay?” And now the next question: “Is the game worth the candles?”

      10. The language barrier is not a hindrance.

There are countries that are more loyal to the fact that you do not yet know the language, but you are very eager to learn it. (And you don’t just try but also do.) There are those which, by an unwritten rule, separate “their guys” from “strangers”. Until you become one of “their guys”, you will be at the level of survival. This is at its best.

      11. With this experience, you will be “torn off” with arms and legs.

Everyone has their own experience and knowledge. There is not a single pair of people whose knowledge and experience are 100% the same. Any detail plays a role here. It can both “push you forward” and “leave you aside”.

      12. Yоur rеlаtives/friеnds/аcquaintances will help.

Don’t expect help. Those who stay back home will not understand you and your difficulties fully and will not really help you. Those you meet are more likely to use you to their advantage.

      13. Everything will be as before. (Family, friends, acquaintances.)

As soon as you left, this is already that “point of no return” in your relationship. At first you will not understand it but over the time it will manifest itself more and more. Seeing less and talking less. There will be fewer common topics and interests.

      14. It’s easy to marry a prince or find a rich queen.

Princes have a lot to choose from. You are not the first, nor the last. (Imagine how many people like you come every day / month / year?) Maybe it is better to become the one they are looking for and dream of instead of hunting?

Queen? Yes, if her parents are wealthy. Here you need to greatly surpass the typical male representative. You will have to hunt for such young ladies, because they are looking for their own kind. You will have to earn no less than what they already have. These girls don’t want to ruin the relationship with their rich parents, not talking about living at a lower level. Are you ready? I don’t think so. What about rich but self-sufficient? Believe me, she is not a fool, since she has built herself and her empire on her own. Most likely, either she will consider you as a resource, or as prey for the night.

      15. Housing is better there than here.

There are both new and old buildings everywhere. The difference is in price. If a place is smeared with honey and everyone is running there, then the demand for housing will be high, and prices from this will not decrease. You will have to choose from the price range available to you. Then it’s the lottery. Have you heard about the pig in a poke? Each landlord will hide something, and at first glance you will not notice it.

      16. You’ll make all your dreams come true.

      Of course, it is
