more. You like to experiment here, as we have mentioned, and this is basically good. We learn what works for us through trial, error and experiment. There is no right or wrong spiritual path. Each person, ultimately, is their own path and this is discovered through experiment. This is so even in the mainstream religions. Each person practises their religion in a unique kind of way. (This is why there are so many sects within any given religion.)
One of the problems with Uranus being in your 12th house is that one can overdo a good thing. One can become a spiritual faddist, jumping from one teaching to the next, depending on the fashionable trends of the time. Thus, one never gets a chance to work a path and see the results. Experiment by all means, but allow time to see how it works out.
Neptune, the most spiritual of all the planets, has been in your 11th house of friends for some years now. This reinforces what we’ve been saying above. But it also shows that you are attracting spiritual-type friends and are involved in spiritual groups and organizations. Perhaps you think that there is some ‘mass’ way to salvation and enlightenment. This would be the tendency now. But in truth enlightenment and spiritual breakthroughs (and there will be many in the year ahead) are always solitary experiences. Even if you are in a group, sitting in a lecture with hundreds in attendance, your personal experience will be unique. No one else will have the same experience as you.
Spiritual compatibility seems the criteria for friendship this year. Those who are not on your spiritual path are not your friends. Someone who is on your path will become a friend even if you just meet him or her for a brief time. These relationships tend to endure.
Saturn, as we mentioned, will spend most of the year in your 8th house of sexuality. Thus the cosmos is putting this department of life in ‘right order’. If you have been irresponsible in this area, the bills come due in the next few years. But if you have been responsible, Saturn will show you how to enhance this area in healthy ways.
The sexual force is perhaps the most powerful in the universe. It can create or destroy. There is a right and wrong way to use this force and these are some of the lessons that are going to be learned in the coming years.

You begin your year with at least 80 per cent (and sometimes 90 per cent) of the planets above the horizon – An overwhelming percentage. Your 10th house of career is chock-full of planets (half of the planets are either there or moving through there this month). On the 20th, as the Sun crosses the Mid-heaven and enters your 10th house, you begin a yearly career peak. The message is very clear. Home and family are important, but you can downplay these issues and focus on your career. You are in the noon time of your year. You need to be achieving your outer goals in the world. And, you will. You might not achieve all your career goals this month, but you will certainly see much progress towards them. The good news here is that the family seem to encourage the career. Family members are also more ambitious these days.
The planetary momentum is overwhelmingly forward this month. Until the 21st almost all of them are in forward motion. Normally this would be a great time to start new projects or to launch new products into the world. But for you it might be better to wait until your birthday. In a pinch, if you’re pressed for time, the current period is acceptable.
Career is really the main headline for the month ahead. Even the financial life seems to happen there. Mercury, your financial planet, moves into your career house on the 5th. This shows pay rises. You have the financial favour of elders, bosses and authority figures. The government and government bureaucracies also seem favourably disposed towards you. Parents and parent figures too. It should be a prosperous month.
The only challenge that we see right now is health and energy. Overwork is the main danger. When energy levels get too low a person becomes vulnerable to opportunistic infections. So by all means follow your ambitions, but do so in a steady way. Delegate important tasks where possible, and make sure you get enough sleep. Schedule in some massages or time at a health spa. Don’t burn the candle at both ends.
For the past six or so months the planetary power was in the social, Western sector of the Horoscope. This month a shift happens and by the 20th most of the planets will be in the independent, Eastern sector. You are less dependent on others now. The planetary power moves towards you rather than away from you. It is time to stand on your own two feet and create what you want in your life. If conditions are unpleasant make the necessary changes. You have the energy to do this.

Like last month the focus is on career – especially until the 20th. You are still in a yearly career peak until then. Home and family issues can safely be downplayed and, like last month, the family seems supportive of your career.
Mercury, your financial planet, went into retrograde motion on January 21 and will be retrograde until the 11th. This will not stop earnings from happening, but it does slow things down a bit. There are more glitches and delays involved in finance. Payments can arrive late. Deals can be delayed. Customers can change their minds. The bank or credit card companies can make errors and take time to resolve things. The important thing now is to make sure your financial dealings and transactions are as perfect as you can make them. Make sure your account number is on your payment slip and is written accurately. Make sure the customer understands the details of his or her purchase. Avoid making major purchases or investments or important financial decisions during this period. This is a time for financial review, a time for attaining mental clarity on your financial position or pending purchases. A time for seeing where improvements can be made here. After the 11th you can act on these plans.
Mercury retrograde doesn’t mean that you make no purchases. Sure, you shop for groceries and the minor things in life. It is the major purchases – the expensive items – that should be avoided. However (and it has happened to me), sometimes there is no choice – a major purchase must be made under a Mercury retrograde. In those cases do your best to protect yourself. Make sure the store has a good returns policy.
By the 18th most career goals should have been achieved (or satisfactory progress made) and the focus will shift to spirituality and friendship. The Sun enters Pisces, your 11th house, and starts to travel with Neptune (the Sun will be most closely conjunct to Neptune from the 23rd to the 27th, but you will feel it even before). The family becomes more idealistic. You and family members will have spiritual breakthroughs and an active dream life. You will have all kinds of synchronistic and supernatural experiences. You will meet up with spiritual-type friends and perhaps be involved in spiritual or charitable organizations. Your challenge will be to integrate your religious beliefs with your spiritual experiences. Religious and academic figures in your life might challenge these things.
